The HTC EVO 4G OTA update to Gingerbread 4.53.651.1 went out today. This bug-killer update repairs the voice recognition feature that Gingerbread
destroyed. Other issues corrected in this maintenance release dealt with Picasa integration, problems transferring contacts by Bluetooth and SMS messaging issues.

Most people will have no problems with installing the new upgrade over either Wi-Fi or 3G/4G, but rooted EVO users may want to study the update before installing to see whether the new version will adversely affect your phone.
